LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN TEENS

Have you ever noticed how much teenagers lead on a daily basis? Whether they are navigating their way through middle and high school, joining student organizations or sports, organizing social activities, or negotiating with their parents for a later curfew, when it comes to being a teenager, leadership is a matter of life. The challenge is that teens don’t always get to express their natural leadership abilities, and those who do don’t always have good examples to follow so they can grow and develop.

Your students are struggling to discover their identity. Their self-worth is deeply rooted in their peers’ approval, and they desperately need guidance on finding their true selves and navigating this emotional and fragile time in their lives. Everyone wants them to find strong character within themselves and believe in their value so they can use their talents to serve and succeed.

However, teachers are so busy covering the curriculum for tests that they have little time to dedicate to this critical area of development. That’s why Sonya’s leadership development program is such a blessing for both the students and educators who hire her. She’ll help you feel good about the difference you’re making in their lives. Likewise, she’ll fill a void in the emotional and leadership education that teens crave and need to stay on the right course and fully develop their natural gifts.

Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership!

The Leadership Game for teens is a fun yet challenging experience for aspiring leaders. It’s designed to help teens better understand core leadership principles and values in a fun and engaging setting. With each roll of the die, young people will discover what it means to be a leader, how to have better relationships with their family, teachers, friends, and others, and how to recognize opportunities to add value to people.

Sonya invites teens and preteens to the table to discover practical leadership values they can use in the home, classroom, and social circles. Learn more about her leadership development program below:

DISC ASSESSMENTS

Student Success Report (Ages 8 to 12)

Students will learn about their unique personalities. Unlike a test they may take in school, there is no pass or fail. This report shows which of the four primary personality styles they have the most energy in. There is no good or bad report like there is no good or bad thumbprint. After all, everyone has special gifts, talents, and personality traits that make them amazing.

College and Career Impact Report

High School and College Students

The college and career impact reports provide students and those amid career transition with a well-rounded view of their communication style, how their ideals show up in the work they do, their cognitive thinking and learning styles, their strengths as shown in our Power DISC, and the way they most influence results. Several examples of careers would make great use of their strengths.

Communication Impact and DISC Reports

Individuals are wired with a unique style of communication and collaboration. When they do their best and use it to serve people and accomplish projects, they can enjoy a higher degree of performance and a lesser degree of difficulty in their interactions with others.

Knowledge of the DISC system empowers people to profoundly understand themselves, their family, co-workers, and friends. Understanding behavioral styles helps you become a better communicator, minimize or prevent conflicts, appreciate the differences in others, and positively influence those around you.

Teaching the Next Generation Financial Literacy

Young people are looking to learn financial knowledge. For them to have the best opportunities to succeed financially once they are on their own, give them sound financial literacy education now.

“The earlier children learn about money, the better equipped they are to make good financial decisions throughout their lives.”
— Former President Barack Obama

Introducing children to financial literacy at a young age fosters confidence. It prepares them for the decision-making and responsibilities they will face as they transition into adulthood and navigate the world. Sonya D. Lucas offers financial education that prepares students for the realities they’ll face in the real world and contributes directly to their future success. She empowers middle and high school students with financial literacy skills.

To deepen their understanding, students will learn budgeting, saving, and investing, the importance of credit, and key financial vocabulary. She also equips students with tools to build generational wealth.
